We are Aust-Mech, Australian Conveyor Systems Pty Ltd! Founded over 26 years ago, we specialise in the design and manufacturing of quality, high-performance bulk-handling equipment.

In addition to our extensive range of standard equipment, we custom design and manufacture equipment to suit client applications and solve materials handling problems. Our workshops are well-equipped to handle most general engineering tasks and 'one-off' or 'prototyping' design and/or fabrication projects.

The quality, attention to detail and ability to meet clients' requirements has secured our place as a leading supplier of bulk materials handling equipment throughout Australia and overseas.

As a family-owned Australian company, our staff are like family to us! You will be working with a team, some of whom have been with us for over 15 years, and they'll be on hand to provide you with support at every turn in your position.

The Opportunity:

With continued growth within our company, we are looking for experienced and talented Welder Fabricators to join our team. These are full-time permanent roles with offerings of on-the-job training.

This role is diverse and exciting, much like our team! You will be offered the opportunity to get involved in all stages of the manufacturing process. From design to manufacturing, assembly and installation, you will have a varied and rewarding role as part of the Aust-Mech team.

Day in the life of a Welder Fabricator:

• Fabricate innovative machinery
• Interpret and work from engineering drawings, understanding dimensioning, marking and welding symbols
• Weld mild and stainless-steel components using MIG, MMA (stick) welding equipment
• Use of various electric and manual hand tools
• Mark out and prepare metal components for cutting, forming, drilling etc.
• Fabricate components from sheet metal to mechanical to heavy structural

You’ll be great in this role because:

We all have different backgrounds and experiences, and we understand you will too. So whether you have years of experience under your belt or are at the start of your career, we will support you. 

We would love you to possess the following, however, they’re not all dealbreakers:

• Trade Certification 
• Experience with 7axis CNC brake presses 
• Your ability to read and interpret drawings or specs to complete the job
• Experience in both heavy and light fabrication with GMAW

We offer an attractive starting hourly rate between $28 - $33 an hour, negotiable subject to qualifications and, more importantly, relevant experience. Appreciation goes a long way, so overtime allowances are also a part of this role.
